Linlithgow was the first stop of the day for myself and Daisy, lunch in the Four Marys, on the High Street. The visit was in the hope of picking up some psychic activity there with the added bonus of great food and renowned service. During our visit I did sense the feeling of nausea in the atmosphere heavily related to medicine being practiced there. Whilst we were eating lunch Daisy mentioned that she could feel a presence, someone standing beside her . I also felt a cold presence, ice cold in a bar that was warm and had no drafts. I felt that it was male, dark long hair, his right eye missing or damaged and a head injury with his dress being that of a covenanter or a Cavalier, in hiding, from Oliver Cromwell perhaps. Daisy made a comment “was he ever up this far”. I had no idea at that point. I also have to say that I did not physically see anyone. The best way to describe it is that I see images as though they are my memory. No other spirits for me at this time and I am trying not to make the old joke here about there certainly being plenty behind the bar, there said it, I couldn’t resist.
Stepping outside I notice that there is a plaque of Dr David Waldie a surgeon who had once resided there -it is displayed above the premises. Bingo. I love it when I get it right. Afterwards a nice walk around the grounds of the Palace, we decided to leave going into the Palace for another day when we had more time but strolled into and around the graveyard of St Michael’s Parish Church. I have to admit that even on a sunny day, there were parts of this area that was heavy with psychic activity. A sense of malevolence. Daisy felt it as well. Not because it was a graveyard but the locus has been the site of foul play in the past. I felt that I was being watched and had the feeling of a male, mid 30s, a thief or possibly a grave robber. Another area of cemetery made me feel that it had been the burial place for criminals, those accused of being witches and the disowned. This was at far end of the cemetery on a grassy part at the bottom of slope.

footnote
Since that day we have established that Cromwell did indeed travel North and in fact took residence in the Palace. Plus there were grave robbers active within the area. Still investigating the burial area and the covenanter suggestion.
footsteps: Echoes of the Past
I used this picture of footprints in the snow to highlight the idea that no matter where we walk, we are walking in the footsteps of someone else, just on a different time or day. When I visit old historical buildings, some now juxtaposed with modern technology or walk along once busy paths or roads…
The House of Binns and a stroll that became a 3 Mile Walk
. The Area surrounding the House of Binns is not only beautiful, picturesque, but oddly tranquil. This is Ironic as I have always felt an undercurrent of something sinister, not just the with house and its grounds but the whole area down to the coastal region of Blackness Castle, which it overlooks then west towards…
